ADF Solutions
When migrating from Forms to J2EE, Oracle JDeveloper, 10g, 11g and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) are natural choices because they provide concepts such as productive, declarative and framework driven development, which are already familiar to a Forms audience. Users who have developed their applications in Forms find it relatively easy to transition to the ADF technology.
Exodus-ADF is an innovative conversion product that automates the migration of Oracle Forms to Oracle ADF, including Oracle Menus, Libraries, Triggers and all semantic content. By streamlining the process of conversion, Exodus-ADF significantly reduces the costs associated with manually converting legacy software. The converted application keeps its original look-and-feel, is fully maintainable, portable and contains no wrappers -- providing fast deployment with very little impact on business operations. By utilizing the Exodus-ADF product, Oracle customers can quickly and efficiently migrate their Oracle Forms applications to Oracle’s 11g Fusion Middleware environments to take advantage of its extensive capabilities for enterprise applications and utilize Oracle’s WebCenter technology immediately after conversion.
For those comfortable in the Forms world, Oracle JDeveloper and ADF becomes the natural choice for J2EE development. Oracle's ADF and JDeveloper simplifies J2EE development by minimizing the need to write and maintain code that implements design patterns and application infrastructure. Oracle ADF is based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern.
